چکیده
An investigation into the optimisation of a highly-concentrated (20 wt%) and stable platinum (Pt) organometallic ink, showing consistent jetting performance whilst minimising negatives associated with particle-containing inks. The ink was synthesised printing demonstrated onto glass by piezoelectric drop-on-demand inkjet printer. Stable rapid (Z number: 1.83, 8 m/s) achieved using cyclohexanol-based viscosity modifiers print settings. Uniform nanofilms (10 – 30 nm) were obtained successive layers which showed high conductivities (1.6 ± 0.13 × 106S/m, 17% bulk Pt). 20 wt% concentrated inks increased uniformity electrical conductivity over previously reported 10 equivalent inks, enabling for first-time conductive features single pass. High quality films deposited increasing printed thickness due to significant improvements across centre films. A film purity X-ray diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy Energy Dispersive X-rays. suitability Pt production Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) detection platforms also investigated. presented work will pave way applications benefiting from selective deposition low reactivity nanofilms, as proof concept an LED circuit is demonstrated.

3d-printing of Energy Devices Using Particle-based Inks
Introduction and Summary Over the past year, ISEN funding has been utilized to make significant research progress towards the fabrication of a fully 3D-printed iron/solid oxide fuel cell (Metallic/multi-ceramic) batterygenerator system (Figure 1). Monies have gone towards the partial funding of one grad student/postdoc, Adam Jakus, in Ramille Shah’s Tissue Engineering and Additive Manufacturing...
متن کاملThe Development of New Disperse Dye Inks for Inkjet Textile Printing
Disperse dye inks are used in the inkjet textile printing of polyester fabrics. We aimed at developing a black disperse dye ink consisting of yellow, magenta, and cyan dyes that met the exacting requirements of safety, image durability, and storage stability. One difficulty we met was dye particles tending to aggregate/agglomerate, leading to sedimentation and the threat of head clogging and/or...
متن کاملInkjet printing of UV-curable adhesive and dielectric inks for microfluidic devices.
Bonding of polymer-based microfluidics to polymer substrates still poses a challenge for Lab-On-a-Chip applications. Especially, when sensing elements are incorporated, patterned deposition of adhesives with curing at ambient conditions is required. Here, we demonstrate a fabrication method for fully printed microfluidic systems with sensing elements using inkjet and stereolithographic 3D-print...
متن کاملInkjet Printing Effects of Pigment Inks on Silk Fabrics Surface-Modified with O2 Plasma
Without any preprocessing, silk fabric has lower ability to hold on water due to the smooth morphology of silk fibers. Therefore, patterns directly printed with pigment inks have poor color yields and easily bleed. Plasma surface-treatment of silk fabric was carried out in an oxygen atmosphere under different experimental conditions. The samples were printed with magenta pigment ink after treat...
متن کاملExtraction of colour inkjet printing inks from printouts for forensic purpose.
The ability to differentiate between inkjet printing inks is of great interest in document examination. The aim of this work was to develop a procedure for effective ink extraction so that the ink could be reliably analyzed by capillary electrophoresis. Conditions such as type and composition of extracting mixtures, as well as duration of extraction and sonication procedures were taken into con...
